Driver's age

25 to 75 years.

Young driver's age: 18 to 24 years. Charge 60 ZAR per day. Includes 15% tax

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to hire a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.

Travel Restrictions

Renters wishing to enter Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland must be in possession of a letter of authority obtainable from a budget agent at the time of rental. A cross border charge of nad 277.00 applies at the Namibian border if driving a non-Namibian vehicle. A road tax fee of zar 50.00 will be charged at Swaziland's border to be paid to Swaziland authorities for all cars with a foreign licence plate.

Cross Border Charges:

Namibia and Botswana: ZAR 2200.00

Swaziland and Lesotho: ZAR 750.00

No cross borders allowed to Malawi, Angola and Zambia even if returning to South Africa. Oneway cross border rentals into Zimbabwe and Mozambique are not permitted.
